Mac Install Visual Studio



I am considering installing Visual Studio (VS) for Mac on my Macbook Pro. Since my internal hard drive is short on space, I was wondering if the installer allows the user to specify an installation path? I've heard the total installation size is approximately 4 GB and so I would prefer to install VS, and all dependencies, to my large USB flash. Follow this steps to connect Azure Devops Git repo with Visual Studio for MAC: Open or Create a new projeto on Visual Studio and open it. Go to the Top Menu, Select Visual Studio - Extensions. Select Gallery and make sure the option All the repositories is set. Under Version Control select Team Foundation Version Control for TFS and Azure DevOps.

Follow the steps below to install Visual Studio for Mac:

  1. Download and run the Visual Studio 2019 for Mac.

  2. When the Visual Studio for Mac Installer window pops up, select .NET Core and click Install and Update.

Installing Visual Studio for Mac Extension for Tizen

Visual Studio for Mac Extension for Tizen is a Visual Studio extension that helps the development of Tizen applications by linking the Visual Studio IDE with the Tizen SDK.

Take the following steps to install Visual Studio for Mac Extension for Tizen:

  1. In the Visual Studio menu, click Extensions....

  2. The Extension Manager window will pop up and then click Refresh in the Gallery tab to get the latest updates of the extensions.

  3. In the upper-right search bar, enter tizen to search Visual Studio for Mac Extension for Tizen, and click Install....

  4. After the installation, reopen Visual Studio for Mac, click New and confirm that Tizen category is shown on the left side menu.

How To Download Visual Studio On Mac

The following steps show how to install Tizen SDK through Visual Studio:

Run Visual Studio On Mac

  1. Install Oracle Java Development Kit(JDK) 8.

    Warning: Make sure you've downloaded and installed the exact JDK version.

  2. Start Visual Studio for Mac. On the Visual Studio for Mac menu bar, select Tools > Tizen > Tizen Package Manager. Tizen SDK installer window will pop up shortly.

  3. Click Install new Tizen SDK, and click I Agree if you accept the license agreement.

  4. Set an empty folder path for Tizen SDK and select Install Samsung Certificate Extension. Then, click Next to start the installation of Tizen SDK. It will take a few minutes.

    Warning: An unexpected error may occur if there is an empty space within the installation path of the SDK. Make sure there is no space in the path.

  5. If you can run the Tizen SDK tools on the Visual Studio menu bar Tools > Tizen, the installation is complete.
